2020: the pandemic year
Garage sales fell 48% in 2020 compared with 2019, and 75% in spring (March to May). April 2020 had none at all.
Monthly sales were back to at least 90% of 2019 for three months running by September 2021, 18 months after March 2020. 2024 was the first full year with more sales than 2019.
Records and milestones
- Busiest day: July 16, 2016, with 171 sales open across the city.
- Quietest month: April 2020, with no sales at all.
- A sale nearly every Saturday: 99% of Saturdays since 2016 had at least one garage sale open.
